Monthly Membership meeting
We are taking our monthly board and membership meetings to our friends at Veterans Sportsmens Association meeting hall. 1335 Route 44 Suite 1, Pleasant Valley, NY 12569. Same times of 7 PM for board and 7:30 PM for membership. It’s the second Monday of the month as usual.
Meetings will be held there through the spring of 2025. Any changes will be posted. We welcome visitors and new members at all of our meetings.
Wappingers Creek - ongoing clean up
This Fall Kayak Event will take place on the Wappingers Creek on Sunday 6 October, from Pleasant Valley behind the Town Hall to Greenvale Park in Poughkeepsie. We will be meeting at Veterans Sportsmens Association office at 1335 Route 44 in Pleasant Valley at 1300 hrs. This kayak event will include a creek clean up in anticipation of the 2025 Wappingers Creek Derby. We are teaming up with the VSA for the anticipated 2025 Derby. This is a FREE event. Some Kayaks are available for Free use to VSA members, AESC members, Veterans and their families. Kayaks must be reserved in advance (life vests and paddles will also be provided). Contact the VSA for kayak information.
There is no end time designated. Stay as long as you like. As always, bring personal supplies for the day.

2024 Whiskey, Bourbon and BBQ
Our friends at the Veterans Sportsmens Association are holding their annual whiskey and bbq event.
Featuring Local New York and Veteran Owned Distilleries.
For 2024 they will also feature local Wineries, Mead, Cideries and Breweries.
Guests will receive free Whiskey and other adult beverage tastings, live music, and enjoy a variety of local food and beverages. All funds raised will be used to directly support Local Veterans.
Live Music and a BBQ Food Truck will be provided on site for the event.

13th Annual Orchard Beach Clean up
Divers are invited to help us clean up Long Island Sound and assist with an underwater survey
for the City Island Oyster Reef (CIO). Bring proof of certification. We need beachcombers too
so bring the whole family! All participants are invited to a clambake immediately afterward, and
prizes will be awarded for most trash collected. All donations benefit City Island Oyster Reef, a

12th Annual Orchard Beach Clean Up and Clam Bake
Join the City Island Oyster Reef (CIOR) a 501 (c)(3) organization for this annual event. Volunteers will be cleaning the beach and underwater in the swimming area. Divers interested in cleaning beneath the water’s surface should contact Captain Mike’s mike@captainmikesdiving.com 718.885.1588. They are meeting at the boardwalk near Section 1.
